The Enterprise Data Dictionary is our internal documentation system for Oracle data warehouses. It was built to overcome limitations in currently popular tools such as Informatica, Oracle Warehouse Builder, and Oracle Designer.
It shares data element definitions across the enterprise, allowing technical and non-technical users to read and update elements for which they are the responsible owner.
It uses Oracle dictionary data to compare actual schemas with database designs.
It can produce reports of "mapping chains" in order to analyze data element usage through multi- staged tables.
It can generate PL/SQL code to speed development of data warehouse applications.
It has an integrated To-Do manager for assigning tasks, workflow control, and document tracking.
